Haringey Council agreed to rename Albert Road Recreation Ground O. R. Tambo Recreation Ground to highlight Oliver Tambo’s legacy in the borough and worldwide.

President Cyril Ramaphosa mourns passing of King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuzulu

President Cyril Ramaphosa is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Isilo Samabandla, King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuzulu.

His Majesty passed away in hospital on the 12th of March 2021.

“This sad news come at a time when we had all been hopeful that His Majesty was recovering well in hospital where he had been over the past few weeks,” the President said.

The President  has offered his sympathies and prayers to the Royal Family, to the Zulu nation, and to the people of KwaZulu-Natal and beyond – for whom the Ingonyama was an important symbol of history, culture and heritage.

“His Majesty will be remembered as a much-loved, visionary monarch who made an important contribution to cultural identity, national unity and economic development in KwaZulu-Natal and through this, to the development of our country as a whole.”

Services at Whitehall

Emergency Travel Document

South African citizens who already lodged applications for Emergency Travel Documents will be contacted individually and will be provided with a collection date, the date will be on a Tuesday or Thursday. Dates will be allocated according to date of Travel as per air tickets submitted.

People who were scheduled for November 2020 appointments to lodge Emergency Travel Document applications will be provided dates to submit applications, dates will be provided according to dates of travel. Emergency cases involving bereavement will receive priority.

Passports collection

If you have received notification that your passport is ready for collection, please use the postal option, procedure is on the notification email. Passports/Certificates will be dispatched once a week until the office re-opens.

Other applications

Please continue to send your applications by post.

Letters of retention will be processed and dispatched once a week during lockdown, until the office re-opens.
